I am seriously over being responsible for things. Today, the dog barfed. Numerous times. On my bed, on the rug in the kitchen, outside… I got worried and called the vet, and the receptionist told me to give him boiled chicken and rice for dinner and if he keeps puking, to bring him in. I gave him a bath so he wouldn’t smell like dried dog vomit. The bath seemed to help him feel better, and so I made the rice and mixed in some boiled chicken, which he ate faster than he’s ever eaten anything before. He’s been normal since then and I’m letting him lay next to me on my newly-made bed. Pretty daring.
I made dinner tonight, but I was the only one who liked it: beet “noodles” with sautéed shallots and garlic, yogurt dribbled over it, and fresh dill. Dak tried it. He was not a fan. I’m kind of proud of him for trying. To be fair, he didn’t realize that they were not actually noodles (they were spiralized beets). He did like the red pear I cut up to go with it. The kids ate mac and cheese.
Due to all the dog drama, I didn’t get a chance to grade any more tonight, so that’s hanging over my head. I did get some of it done while waiting for a doctor’s appointment today, so at least one thing is done. I didn’t get a chance to make anything for lunch, so I will have to do that in the morning. I did at least get clothes for tomorrow ready. So much adulting. Ugh.
Here’s my beet noodles cooking. I’m pretty proud of myself for cooking on a weekday.

That looks delicious!
