I think it’s because I wasn’t home alone with the kids today, but I finally felt like “okay, summer is good” today. I got up late, relaxed, took Annika to get a haircut, picked up my niece who is staying over for the night, and we grilled. Nothing too pressing – that’s the important thing.

I mostly spent the day helping other people do things they wanted to do. Annika has been dying for a haircut, so we did that. Then I helped my niece dye her hair tips purple. I helped Anders find a longboard he’s been wanting to get, and then tonight I helped Dak put the gasket on his windshield for the VW, which ended up breaking anyway. Then we had a drink and got ready for bed.

I feel like it as a good day, even though it was pretty uneventful. That’s how I like summer to be.
