A lot of time, my motivation for doing things comes from other people. I’m not especially well motivated from within, but if people ask or push me to do something, then I generally will do it.
Annika has been my sole motivator this weekend and entire season. I’ve been tired and not wanting to do anything, really. However, Annika is holding it down: “can we wrap some presents?” “Can we put up the tree?” “Can we bake cookies?” “Can we go Christmas shopping? I have four gifts left.”
As a result of her persistence and excitement, we got the tree and decorations out earlier than ever. I have wrapped and finished up more presents earlier than ever before. Annika is always demanding Christmas music and Christmas movies on Netflix. I feel like I’m a little more in the holiday spirit, even though it gets to be a little overbearing having her push so many things.
Anyway, tonight I wrapped some presents while Annika asked me over and over to wrap some more. I don’t really have more left to wrap! I’m glad she’s around though. I do love having up our lights and presents under the tree. It feels cozy.
