According to an Aldi ad I saw while browsing the Internet, it’s National Pumpkin Spice Day and how is it that I didn’t know about this important holiday? I LOVE pumpkin and I love spice and I especially love these two things together in my coffee or in my cakes or in my pies or cookies.
I love all autumn food options, really. Pumpkin is one, but I love hearty soups and chili and squash and apples and Minnesota pears. I love all food options, actually, but fall is probably the best. This may also help you understand why I needed to spend some time getting my diet back into the healthy zone. I love food.
Who came up with a National Pumpkin Spice Day? Was it just Aldi trying to sell some low-cost coffee creamer and Little Debbie snacks? Or is there a national pumpkin board of directors that declared October first Pumpkin Spice Day? Is it pumpkin spice appreciation we’re after, or is pumpkin spice awareness the goal? I mean, we probably have to start with awareness before appreciation can happen. Scaffolded learning and all that.
All I know is that I’ll have to celebrate a belated National Pumpkin Spice Day tomorrow. Not a problem.
