August 21: What HAPPENED in the world when I was totally self obsessed?

So I’ve been dreading the test I had this morning for carpal tunnel syndrome for the past day/day-and-a-half and while I’ve been wallowing in self pity, the world seems to have erupted with news!

  • Paul Manafort is found guilty on 8 counts and can be retried on the other 10.
  • Michael Cohen pleads guilty to 8 counts, implicating the president in campaign finance violations and conspiracy.
  • Omarosa teases a video and then drops it on Hardball but it’s pretty tame compared to others, especially on a day like today.
  • Mollie Tibbitts is found dead, sadly. Her accused killer is an undocumented immigrant. I am thinking of her family tonight and I hope they can weather the political games that will be played using their daughter’s memory as a pawn.
  • The second congressman to endorse Trump in the election is indicted for serious campaign finance crimes. This follows the first congressman who endorsed Trump, who was indicted for insider trading.
  • There are still hundreds of children separated from their families and being held by our government.
  • The water system in Flint is still bad.
  • Damn. Serious news day. I have a lot of reading to do.
  • Update on the procedure: it sucked, but the needle part was less sucky than the electric shock part. I cried, but I got through it and I got results: I have carpal tunnel nerve problems and no other issues. Next I meet with the nerve/hand/wrist doctor in September to figure out next steps. My hand is a bit sore still. I hope I don’t have to do it again ever. Picture of the day = how the test felt.
