I spent all day with Annika and my niece Ella. The boys are out at camp, so we had a girl day. Unfortunately, it was so hot we almost melted.

We went to the Ramsey County Fair and did the rides, then ate ice because we overheated, then went and saw that Annika won first place with her mosaic in the exhibit hall!

As you can see, we were pretty pink. We left earlier than expected.

After Ella went home, Annika and I made the last-minute decision to go to the cheapo theater and see Infinity War. I’ve already seen it once, but Annika hadn’t.

She had some great reactions and responses. First, she was really into the idea of the reality stone, which she thought would be very useful (which is true, I guess). She kept using her fist to try to do things, like get the drink from the cup holder. Then, while the heroes are fighting Thanos on Titan, she asked me “why don’t they just cut off his arm?” I feel kind of dumb, but I hadn’t even thought of that. Annika would be a great superhero or at least tactician.

Finally, since she has already seen Ant-Man and the Wasp, she connected that movie to this one. I won’t spoil it, but it has to do with the post-credit scene.

Today was a busy, awesome day. It was fun just hanging out with my girls. She’s asleep already next to me and I’m just content. Today was too hot, but it was wonderful.
