St. Paul cancelled school for tomorrow. Seeing the weather outside, I would say it was a really good choice, because the roads are terrible. I’m still sick with a stupid cold, so I’m staying home tomorrow and having a sub. I’m really disappointed, to be honest, because I don’t want to miss a day, but I feel like if I stay home and rest up, I won’t be as sick as long. My ears are plugged up and I’m really congested, sneezing, and coughing, so I would be being a bad role model to be there and be sick.
So I’ll stay home, sleep as much as I can, and eat the soup Annika and I made today. It turned out really good, maybe the best soup I’ve made. Annika cut up a bunch of the ingredients for me – she’s getting really good with a knife – and we added cream to the broth this time, which made it feel more hardy.
Here is one of Annika’s acrostic poems from tonight:
Sick of the snow.
No more snow! No more snow!
Oh my goooooeyoosh!
Why? Just why?
I think it really captures the more of our state right now. Probably the best poem for the moment. She nailed it.
