I am so over the disingenuous arguments made by ammosexuals following a mass murder of CHILDREN. “It’s a right… you’re never going to get rid of them… we need them for protection… blah blah blah” Seriously go fuck yourselves.

I’m pissed. I went and I did what everyone says not to do: I watched the videos. I heard all the screams of the kids in what is supposed to be a place where they grow up, where they learn how to navigate homework and puppy love, not fucking bullets. I saw bodies. And blood. And running, screaming, shaking children and teachers standing up to lead them out, like they are warriors.

And honestly? Every fucking gun owner should have to watch that. Not because they are all going to be killers. They should watch that so they remember the immense power these weapons have. They have the power to take away children’s live. They shatter families and communities.

We deal with these preventable tragedies in the abstract and sensationalize the shit out of them: Who was the shooter!? What kind of GUN did he use? An AR-15? How original! How many victims? Wow, that’s the third largest school shooting in American history! How terrible! Thoughts and prayers! We never thought this could happen! I mean, it happens in other places, yeah, but never HERE.

It becomes almost exciting as each lurid detail comes out: the shooter was EXPELLED! For BEHAVIOR ISSUES! He had guns! There were pictures ON THE INTERNET! No one could have known but EVERYONE guessed right away who it was when it happened, wow.

Why the fuck does a 19 year old have easy access to hundreds of rounds of ammunition and at least one AR-15?

I’m not anti-gun. I’ve shot guns and I eat meat from animals that my family has shot. So anyone reading this and hoping to complain that OH NO ANOTHER ANTI-GUN LIBBY LIB WANTS TO TAKE AWAY MY GUNZZZZZ is way off base.

But why the hell can a 19 year old anywhere go and get an AR-15 without so much as a passing glance from a background check? Why should a dude in Connecticut be able to get access to enough weaponry to literally kill an entire class of 5- and 6-year-old? These weapons are NOT for hunting or self defense. They are shitty for hunting and you don’t need 30 rounds to defend yourself. You aren’t that important; the mob isn’t going to descend on your house like it’s in a fucking war zone. If you do need 30 rounds to defend yourself, you are a terrible shot and shouldn’t be anywhere near a gun. You don’t need a bump-stock. “But OMG they are SO FUN!” Fuck you. You are putting a couple minutes of “fun” ahead of people’s lives and that makes you a terrible person.

Don’t like being called a terrible person? Ok. Don’t be one.

We need sensible gun regulation in this country. What we actually need is to repeal the second amendment because why on earth is ownership of an object a “right?” We have a SCOTUS that got the ruling wrong in Heller. We have a real problem.

Don’t show up in my comments with “But but but MUH FREEDUMBS!!” I’m not here for that. I literally don’t believe that we should have as much gun access as we do. I don’t care about your perceived freedom issues that make you believe you should have 10 AR-15s and thousands of rounds of ammo.

I care about appropriate public health. Children’s lives. Depressed people’s lives – most gun-related deaths are actually suicides. I care about the families and friends and communities of victims. Random mass shootings in schools EVERY WEEK is not normal.
